This cover as well as "S.I.B" and the opening of "Time Out For Fun" are good examples of this feature. Here we open with Alan's robotic drumming, then soon enters Bob 2 plucking on a soft guitar riff, leading to Jerry's smooth but puncturing bass line, then a blast of guitar noise on Mark's part*. Then after a whole verse of repetition Bob 1 is finally thrown into the mix; later we hear something, possibly synths, copying Bob 1 in high register. Near the end we hear a subtle throwback to the riff from the original "Satisfaction". *I have yet to figure out what exactly Mark does in the opening of the album version. Some ascending bend pattern. ADDITIONAL NOTES Key: / = Slide/glide/gliss (down) \ = Slide/glide/gliss (up) ^ = Hammer-on/Pull-off (r) = Random fret (#) = Unsure if note is present in the song; may also be part of a chord whose "fullness" is hard to determine Note on Bass parts: Jerry Casale actually plays bass left-handed but with a right-handed bass, but the transcription here is for normally oriented bass so the reader may have to invert the strings as they appear to get an idea of how to play it Jerry-style. I have not embarked on such a thing, but I imagine some of the fretting choices would differ in Jerry's actual bass parts. This is approximate, right?
